Blessed Anuarite Nengapeta is a model for all young people — a model of steadfastness, a woman who, if emulated, can restore reconciliation and honour.
Blessed Anuarite was a member of the Holy Family Sisters in then-Belgian Congo, today known as the Democratic Republic of Congo. She became a martyr at the age of 25 when she was killed during the anarchy that followed Congo’s Simba (Mulele) rebellion, in 1964. As she was dying, she said to her assailants:
“I forgive you, for you know not what you are doing.”
Today, we, the Blessed Anuarite SCC members of OLQP Parish South B Nairobi, strive to emulate Blessed Anuarite in our daily lives and pray for her intercession before God about our issues.
A martyr of forgiveness, a witness of love
In forgiveness, we build peace. In faith, we transform lives.
